Hi Friend,

Immer.

Warum viele Menschen trotzdem keine Hilfe suchen

Also schlucken sie alles runter.

Was ich heute anders mache

xoxo,
Betty

TW: This article is about mental health and emotional overload.

Hi friend,
the universe is testing me again. YAY!

Lately, the universe has been sending me one lesson after another. My nerves are being stretched to the limit, and my self-control is being put to the test.

The past weeks, I’ve faced confrontations that were truly painful. But I had to get through them. I had to set boundaries without reacting impulsively or emotionally like I did before, and instead remain calm and objective.

Did it always work? No, but more often than I thought, lol.

And honestly? It took an enormous amount of energy.

When everything happens at once

And once the ball starts rolling, you sometimes get the feeling that everything is happening at once.

That same week I had PMS and my hormones really made everything worse. In other words: I just didn’t feel very well.

Other things came up as well.
Pressure here. Bad news there. Another problem on top of everything else.

At some point, enough is enough.

And at the very point where I was truly thinking „I can’t go on any longer,“ I suddenly received a message from my sister:

„I’m always there for you, no matter what.“

Actually, this is a sentence that one could quickly dismiss as a cliché.

But in that moment and in that context, it suddenly meant everything .

The sentence that opened my eyes

Because suddenly I realized something:

Yes, the challenges are there.
Yes, some days just feel awful.
Yes, problems don’t suddenly disappear overnight.

But I never had to go through it alone.

I called a friend when I needed to vent.
My sister comforted me when I cried.

And no matter what life throws my way:
I will be loved and I will be supported. Always.

Why many people still don’t seek help

I am aware that not everyone has this safety net.

And yet, I believe that support is often closer than we think.

The problem is often not that nobody wants to help.

But rather that it is not asked about.

Because people judge themselves so much that they automatically assume others would do the same.

So they swallow it all down.
Try to stay strong.
Try to keep functioning.

Until the nervous system shuts down.
Until no way out is seen.

And if you feel completely alone with your thoughts right now:
there are also anonymous support services and people who are happy to listen. They can help you get back on your feet in all situations.

You don’t have to go through this alone.
You just have to take the first step.

And no matter how hopeless some moments may feel:
Please don’t give up on yourself.

Even the darkest phases don’t last forever.

There is no shame in saying:
„This is all becoming too much for me right now.“

Absolutely not.

And sometimes it just takes a:

„Can you talk for a minute?“
or
„I need someone right now.“

What changed today?

I was once at a very low mental level.

And the crazy thing is: back then I didn’t even realize for a long time how bad things had actually gotten.

But I was never completely alone.

Eventually, I sought professional help. And looking back, that was one of the best decisions I ever made.

It gradually gave me back my joy for life.

Today, many years later, I am actively asking for support.

I write: „Hey, can you talk for a minute?“

I’ll be honest if something becomes too much for me.

I don’t have to play the heroine anymore.

Last words

Perhaps that is real strength.

Not having to carry everything alone.
But knowing when you need help.

And sometimes a single sentence is enough to remind people that they are not alone after all.

Thank you for being here.

xoxo,
Betty
